Planning on stocking up on Rejuvenate! while it’s on sale? Here are five quick and delicious Rejuvenate! recipes that will get your mornings off to an incredible start!

A favorite easy breakfast is a plate of piping-hot pancakes, and making heart-healthier pancakes for the whole family is easier than you might think. For starters, I suggest adding a couple scoops of Rejuvenate!™ Berries & Herbs to the mix. Rejuvenate! Berries & Herbs compliments the fruity-sweet flavor of blueberries.

I also suggest adding chia seeds to the mix, and they can be pre-ground in coffee grinder or added whole.

  • 2.5 cups of whole grain pancake mix
  • 2 cups of spring water
  • 1 free-range organic egg
  • A handful of organic blueberries
  • 2 scoops of Rejuvenate Berries & Herbs
  • 2 scoops of organically grown chia seeds
  • Grade B organic maple syrup

Since pancake mixes vary, you’ll want to adjust the ingredients as needed. This recipe makes about eight pancakes.

Rejuvenate Superfood Treats

Of my favorite morning superfood treats, this one is the quickest and easiest. This is an absolutely delicious spread that’s also fabulous on muffins (see below), or pancakes (see above).

  • 1 scoop of Rejuvenate!™ Berries & Herbs
  • 1-2 slices bread (we use whole or sprouted grain)
  • 1 tbsp (approx) coconut oil or coconut spread
  • Sliced apple, banana, or other favorite fruit
  • Grade B maple syrup (Grade A Dark with Robust Taste)
  • Optional: 1 tsp chia seeds (whole or ground)

Directions: While your favorite bread is toasting, take a small dish and mix a tablespoon (more or less to taste) of coconut oil, a scoop of Rejuvenate! on top (my favorite is Berries & Herbs), and enough Grade B maple syrup to sweeten to your liking. For the final touch, top with banana or very thinly sliced apple or other favorite fruit, and enjoy! (For those with a sweet tooth, add some stevia for a low-glycemic treat.)

3. Green Superfood Muffins

  • 2 large eggs (up to 3 regular eggs)
  • 1 cup raw milk, or substitute rice milk, oat milk, or a nut milk
  • 1/2 cup xylitol (or the equivalent of another natural sweetener)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 3-6 scoops Rejuvenate! Original, Rejuvenate Berries & Herbs, or Rejuvenate Plus
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup wholes spelt (or substitute another grain)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions: Beat eggs, milk, and xylitol together until light foam develops. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Scrape the bowl of any dry pockets. Put mix in prepared muffin pan and bake at 350 degree until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out dry. Baking time may vary slightly due to moisture content of coconut, humidity, etc. Check after 25 minutes, and then every five minutes until toothpick comes out dry. Enjoy!

4. Rejuvenate! Breakfast Berry Bar

If you want to try just one of our superfood treats, this recipe is just the thing! I recommend Rejuvenate Plus which has hemp protein, bio sprout protein, chlorella, spirulina, vitamins, etc. Place these items in the food processor, one at a time, in the order listed for best results.

  • 1/4 cup of raw, organic almonds
  • 2 tablespoons, chia seeds
  • 2 scoops of Rejuvenate Plus or  Rejuvenate Berries & Herbs
  • a small handful of organic raisins (more for a sweeter bar)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup raspberries (or blueberries), fresh or frozen

The mixture will become thick and stuck to the sides of the processor. Next, press into a glass dish (I use a 7×5 inch pyrex with a lid) and refrigerate! Adding fresh organic blueberries is also very delicious!

5. REJUVENATE! LEMONADE: A Delicious, Satisfying, and Detoxifying Drink

Mix these ingredients in a quart glass container:

  • 4-6 tablespoons organic lemon juice (freshly squeezed is always best!)
  • 4-6 tablespoons organic grade B maple syrup
  • 1-2 scoops (2-4 tbsps) of Rejuvenate! Original
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Top your container off with purified water, add ice, shake and enjoy!! This recipe is delicious and amazingly nutritious!

Drink 2–4 quarts daily as a wonderful cleansing diet for a period of 1–3 weeks. This drink is excellent for kidney cleansing, weight loss, hydration, increased energy, mental clarity, and much more. The Rejuvenate! in the recipe provides high levels of dietary RNA and high nutrient density foods. This combination of RNA and nutrients results in a drink providing exceptional nutritional power and a very broad range of health benefits. You will love the taste and can lose weight rapidly (up to one pound per day) for up to one or two weeks. You won’t get hungry, will enjoy a clear mind, and will have greater energy throughout the day.

For fans of Grade B maple syrup, here’s a quick guide to the labeling changes coming in 2015. Grade B will soon be called Grade A Dark with Robust Taste. Syrup labeling changes superfood treats

I learned to read with my face buried in comic books. I was eight years old when I bought my first comic book (Fantastic Four #108 for anyone that might care) and for the next ten years or so, I often crossed over into realms where extraordinary heroes guarded humanity from planet-devouring space beings or the tiniest villains from inner space.

These days, whenever I hear the word “super” affixed to anything, it still makes me think of those superheroes of my childhood. To become super still means to become bigger & better than the original. Super is a word that confers exceptional power, not to be taken lightly.

Each superhero had an origin story. Something scientifically extraordinary had to happen to transform a relatively ordinary human into someone super. The Fantastic Four flew a space ship through cosmic rays. Spiderman was created by the bite of an irradiated spider. The Incredible Hulk was exposed to gamma rays. And Superman, well, he came from a whole other planet. That’s pretty super in my book.

All of this got me wondering what exactly constitutes a true “superfood”. Obviously, superfoods don’t come from other planets. They aren’t irradiated by cosmic rays or modified genetically. In fact, as I pondered this I began to realize that all the comic book ways for things to become “super” didn’t much appeal to me when it came to my food. (Yes, amazingly, I rather prefer foods that haven’t been irradiated, mutated, transformed, or come from other planets.)

But what the heck is a superfood?

I was checking out at the Phoenix Ikea the other day and the cashier, studying my Powered by Rejuvenate! Superfoods t-shirt, finally had to ask, “What the heck is a superfood?” I wondered at first if she was serious because it seems so self-evident. Of course a superfood is… well, super! Like a superhero, only food. But…

Powered By Rejuvenate superfoods

Powered by Rejuvenate! Superfoods – Yes, we need a proper model!

Okay, it was a good question.

The dictionary defines a superfood as a food that is considered to be beneficial to your health and that may even help some medical conditions. MedicineNet.com offers this: “A non-medical term popularized in the media to refer to foods that can have health-promoting properties such as reducing one’s risk of disease or improving any aspect of physical or emotional health.”

Superhero foodsI’m not a doctor or scientist, but by my standard of “superness” these definitions seem a little weak. WebMD lists the following foods as being superfoods:

•    Beans
•    Blueberries
•    Broccoli
•    Oats
•    Oranges
•    Pumpkin
•    Salmon
•    Soy
•    Spinach
•    Tea (green or black)
•    Tomatoes
•    Turkey
•    Walnuts
•    Yogurt

All of these foods are excellent sources of some amazing nutrients. I eat  all of them (except broccoli, lingering childhood food trauma, don’t ask!). Combined in a meal, all these foods which are super make a supermeal. Salmon with an organic blueberry chutney (Yes, it exists, click here for the recipe), soy sauce, and spinach, along with a cup of green tea, now that’s a supermeal! But…

I still think that for something to be super, it has to actually be bigger, faster, stronger than the original. That’s my opinion, supported by decades of superhero lore. Are blueberries super? You bet they are, but what about blueberries mixed with aronia berries? Wouldn’t that be even more super? Is chlorella super? Sure it is, but what about chlorella combined with organic sprouts, spirulina, and hemp protein? That would be truly super!

Is there really such a thing as a superfood?

I know what you might be thinking. Superheroes don’t exist, so maybe superfoods don’t exist, either. Our friends over at naturalnews.com offered my favorite definition:

Superfoods are vibrant, nutritionally dense foods that offer tremendous dietary and healing potential. They are powerful sources of clean protein, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, good fats, essential fatty and amino acids, and other nutrients that offer deep levels of nutrition.

Superfoods are foods that go above and beyond. They pack in the good stuff that we all want rallying for our health on a daily basis. Although there are long lists of foods that contain nutrients that support health, superfoods turbo charge the system – especially when eaten on a regular basis.

Now that’s a superfood definition I can get behind!

Rejuvenate! Superfoods Are Truly Super

There are plenty of highly designed superfoods available in health food stores. Over the years I’ve tried plenty of them. My personal favorite, and the one I consume on a daily basis, is Rejuvenate! Berries & Herbs. A scoop goes on my morning cereal, in my smoothie, and even in that delicious blueberry chutney I mentioned above. Here’s the quick lowdown on the Rejuvenate! line of superfoods sold by Integratedhealth.com.

Dr. Hank Liers formulated Ultimate Protector as an extremely powerful, triple-action antioxidant, vitamin C, and Nrf2 activator that provides an ORAC5.0 value of 486,000 units per serving. We are aware of no other Nrf2 activator formula offering this level of total antioxidant capacity against all major types of free radicals. The formulation of Ultimate Protector, containing 29 natural, phytochemical Nrf2 activators, represents a breakthrough in antioxidant formula technology.

Ultimate Protector is a complex and very precisely formulated product. As such, it has been generating a great deal of thoughtful inquiries from our customers. Whether or not you’ve tried Ultimate Protector, we invite your questions and comments for Dr. Hank Liers. We will use this page as an ongoing repository for Ultimate Protector Q&A.

  1. Have there been side effects when taking Ultimate Protector? What side effects are to be expected when taking this product?

We are not aware of any side effects from taking Ultimate Protector. Everyone that we know who has taken the product has noted significant benefits.

  2. Does soybean hull extract contain soy/phytoestrogens?

Black soybean hull extract contains a high percentage of polyphenols (greater than 60% and as high as 100%) including 10-45% anthocyanidins, 10-25% catechins, and 40-80% OPC. Due to the extraction processes, Ultimate Protector™ is unlikely to contain any soy protein or phytoestrogens. (see: http://www.google.com/patents/US8206764)

  3. Does CoffeeBerry contain caffeine?

Ultimate Protector contains CoffeeBerry and a very small amount of caffeine

A study done on CoffeeBerry extract shows a 0.44% caffeine content. Since each capsule contains 22.5 mg of the CoffeeBerry extract, the amount of caffeine per capsule is about 0.1 mg. (For more information see: http://www.nutritionaloutlook.com/news/study-compares-higher-antioxidant-coffee-fruit-extract-coffee-powder)

  4. I’ve read that corn is universally contaminated with aspergillus mold which produces the very toxic mycotoxin aflatoxin B1. There is lots of research on fungi and mycotoxins in yellow corn, but I do not know much about blue corn. Could mold be an issue?

Ultimate Protector contains an extract of blue corn optimized for the anthocyanidin content. Due to the extraction process, it is unlikely that the final material contains any aspergillus. Also, since there is only a small amount of blue corn extract in the product (we estimate less than 5 mg per capsule), it is even more unlikely that aspergillus is a problem.

  5. Please explain how a Vitamin C molecule C6H8O6 from a NON-GMO source is different than a Vitamin C molecule from a GMO source.

There is no DNA in a molecule of Vitamin C. The process of producing Vitamin C (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstein_process) involves using the starting material of d-glucose derived from plant materials such as corn, beets, potatoes, cassava, etc. Each of these starting materials will contain some protein that could be in part from genetically modified materials. In most cases, especially in the production of the USP grade materials used in Ultimate Protector, the protein will be completely removed. As a precaution against lingering genetically modified proteins, PCR testing is conducted (see: http://www.nongmoproject.org/product-verification/about-gmo-testing/guidelines/). The Vitamin C we use in Ultimate Protector ™ has been tested using this method and is certified by independent laboratories to contain no GMOs.

  6. What is the source of your Vitamin C / ascorbic acid ingredient?

The USP grade Vitamin C (usually greater than 99.8% pure ascorbic acid) comes from China and is certified as non-GMO. Typical sources of Vitamin C are corn, potatoes, or beets, depending upon time of year. Sometimes tapioca is the source but it is rarely available.

  7. What are the sources for your ORAC ingredients?

Ultimate Protector contains six high-ORAC sources. Three of these (AnthoComplete®, VitaBerry® Plus, and VitaVeggie®) are mixtures of extracts from a wide range of fruits and vegetables. Below each one is listed along with website & product information:

    AnthoComplete® from Futureceuticals (http://www.futureceuticals.com/products/anthocomplete™)
    CoffeeBerry® Forte from Futureceuticals (http://www.futureceuticals.com/products/coffee-fruit)
    VitaBerry® Plus from Futureceuticals (http://www.futureceuticals.com/products/vitaberry®)
    VitaVeggie® from Futureceuticals (http://www.futureceuticals.com/products/vitaveggie®)
Resveratrol (98% min.) is derived from the Giant Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum)
Curcumin (95% min. curcuminoids) from Sabinsa (http://www.sabinsa.com/products/standardized-phytoextracts/c3/)

  8. Are the ORAC sources organic or just non-GMO?

Non-GMO ultimate protector ingredientsAll of our ORAC sources are non-GMO, but none claim organic, and this may be because they are extracts. More specifically, the extracting process may preclude the production of an organic result. Please consider that this is a nutritional supplement and not a food.

  9. Are the remaining ingredients organic and non-GMO?

All Ultimate Protector ingredients are non-GMO, but not all are identified as organic.

  10. Is Ultimate Protector entirely food based?

Yes, the entire product is food based.

  11. Are the foods in Ultimate Protector grown without chemicals?

All of the ingredients are classified as non-GMO. All of the ingredients are in accordance with the most rigorous US Pharmacopeia (USP) standards (or equal). For most of the ingredients, our suppliers do not claim organic. This is due in part to processing. That means in certain cases, organic ingredients can no longer be claimed as organic when processed, or when mixed with other (i.e., non-organic) ingredients.

  12. From what countries are the ingredients sourced?

The ingredients in Ultimate Protector come from many countries. For example, AnthoComplete ingredients are sourced as follows: Elderberry: Poland, Netherlands; VitaCurrant® Blackcurrant Extract: China; VitaBlue® Wild Blueberry Extract: China; VitaCherry® Sweet Cherry: Greece; Acai: Brazil; Blackberry: USA, Chile; Aronia: Poland; Raspberry: USA, Chile, Serbia, China; Black Soybean Hull Extract: China; Blue Corn Extract: China; Wild Bilberry Extract: China; Silica Dioxide: USA.VitaBerry Plus ingredients are sourced as follows: Grape Seed Extract: China; Wild Blueberry: USA, Canada, Russia; Quercetin: China; Resveratrol: China; Wild Bilberry: Sweden, Russia, Poland; Cranberry: USA, Canada; Tart Cherry: USA, Poland, Serbia; Prune: USA; Raspberry Seed: USA, Chile, China, Serbia; Strawberry: USA, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, China, Egypt, Serbia; Silica Dioxide: USA.

  13. What about the use of magnesium trisilicate? Is there any danger?

Health Products Distributors, Inc., adheres to a strict policy regarding excipients allowed in our supplements. Please refer to the following on our main website: http://www.integratedhealth.com/excipients.html.

Magnesium trisilicate (GRAS listed) is used in oral nutritional formulations and food products as a glidant, and is generally regarded as an essentially nontoxic and non-irritant material. The US Pharmacopeia (USP) describes Magnesium trisilicate as a compound of magnesium oxide and silicon dioxide with varying proportions of water. It contains not less than 20% of magnesium oxide and not less than 45% of silicon dioxide. Magnesium trisilicate occurs as an odorless and tasteless, fine, white-colored powder that is free from grittiness, and is practically insoluble in water.

When administered orally, magnesium trisilicate is neutralized in the stomach to form magnesium chloride and silicon dioxide; some magnesium may be absorbed. Whenever possible we use magnesium trisilicate in combination with silica as a replacement for magnesium stearate. Magnesium trisilicate is generally used as a glidant in a concentration range of 0.1%–0.75%, and is typically used at the 0.5% level. It is important not to confuse the use of magnesium trisilicate as an antacid preparation with the use in the preparation of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. For example, in Ultimate Protector™ there would be a maximum of about 2.5 mg per capsule. This amount is at least 25 times less than what is found in antacid formulations.

Even at the much higher levels, material safety data sheets (MSDS) state that ingestion of small amounts is unlikely to cause any adverse effects. FDA lists this material as “Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS)”. We consider the small amounts of magnesium trisilicate found in Ultimate Protector™ to be very safe.

  14. I’ve never heard of Trans-Resveratrol, but I see it is an Ultimate Protector ingredient. What is the difference between Resveratrol and Trans-Resveratrol?

There are 2 forms of resveratrol (cis and trans).  We use the term trans-resvertrol which is most often associated with grapes, but according to common usage we could have used the more general term resveratrol as well. In our formula we use Giant Knotweed (polygonom cuspidatum) with a typical purity of over 98% resveratrol.

  15. Has Ultimate Protector been tested for heavy metals such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium?

Yes, heavy metals testing has been conducted. The results show no detectable amounts of lead (<0.116 mcg), mercury (<0.0167 mcg), and arsenic (<0.116 mcg) and insignificant amounts of cadmium (0.093 mcg) per serving (2 capsules).

  16. Does Ultimate Protector contain gluten?

No, there is not any gluten in Ultimate Protector.

Irena Ossola - Powered by Rejuvenate!

Pro cyclist Irena Ossola – Powered by Rejuvenate!™

HPDI is pleased to announce sponsorship of professional racing cyclist Irena Ossola. Irena races at the elite level as part of International French and Canadian 2017 SAS – MACOGEP Pro Cycling Team. She competes full-time in races all across the United States and Europe. Irena is also a cycling coach, bike tour leader, and a graduate of Columbia University. She regularly trains in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Tucson, Arizona.

Recently, Dr. Hank Liers met with Irena to discuss nutrition for high-performance athletes, and her current experience using Rejuvenate! high-RNA superfoods for cycling performance and recovery. Her plan is to continue using Rejuvenate! superfoods and incorporate additional HPDI foundational supplements into her nutrition program.

Irena initially discovered Rejuvenate! superfoods last year as part of her nutrition regimen. She reported increased energy and faster recovery times using as little as one-scoop of Rejuvenate!™ PLUS and/or Berries & Herbs, which she added to her already “clean” diet. She often would combine 1/2 scoop of each formula into a smoothie consumed after training sessions or races. During periods when she paused her intake of Rejuvenate, she noticed recovery took longer.

After recognizing the competitive advantages afforded her by Rejuvenate! superfoods, Irena has become a convert to a high-RNA lifestyle that includes significant levels of dietary nucleic acids daily from two or more scoops of Rejuvenate! PLUS, Berries & Herbs, or original. With HPDI’s nutritional sponsorship, Irena has been able to increase her intake of HPDI’s unique superfoods.

On Facebook she recently wrote about her consumption of Rejuvenate!™ superfoods:

“I am a full supporter of the Health Products Distributors, Inc. products and using the Rejuvenate! superfoods in my recovery smoothies. I can feel the difference in my workouts and my everyday energy by incorporating them in my already clean diet. This is not just a sponsor testimonial, but honest truth! I raced 3 days last weekend, and have done 5 hard workouts in 7 days and am continually astonished at what my body has been able to do since using the products.”

Irena already feels additional increases in energy and experiences faster recovery times as she boosts her intake of Rejuvenate! superfoods. She also has begun incorporating other foundational supplements like Multi Two (caps), Essential Fats Plus E (essential fats, and Ultimate Protector into her regimen.

We at HPDI are excited that we can contribute to Irena’s nutritional program. We anticipate great things to come! You’ll be hearing much more about Irena and her team in the coming months. Again, we are pleased to officially announce that Health Products Distributors, Inc. now sponsors Irena and her elite level women’s cycling team, Cloud Racing.

For many reasons this is an exciting partnership! I’m sure we’ll blog a lot in coming months about natural nutritional advantages for athletes. But there is another reason to be excited.

Irena is the highlighted in a new documentary titled “She Works,” about women in professional sports.

Because whether its basketball, soccer, or cycling, professional female athletes such as Irena Ossola typically struggle with a lack of promotion and financial support. The “She Works” video documentary project will feature Irena and will raise awareness and hopefully stimulate meaningful discussions about gender inequality in professional sports.

The “She Works” video project has a shoestring budget of $4,500 raised through a 15-day Kickstarter campaign that ended March 28, 2014. Additional funding contributions are welcome. Please contact us at support(at)integratedhealth.com or 520-896-9193.

If you are interested in sponsoring Irena and/or Team Cloud, you can contact her directly at ossola.irena(at)gmail.com or 505-795-6832. Also, please visit her website (www.OssolaSport.com).
