Foundational Elements in HPDI’s Master Rejuvenation Program

The program emphasizes establishing basic nutrition and foundational nutritional formulas, including high-RNA Rejuvenate!™ superfoods and other sources of dietary nucleic acids. This rejuvenation lifestyle program rests on six elements: 1) Attitude/Commitment, 2) Detoxification, 3) Preventing Toxicity, 4) Health Building Nutrition, 5) Building Powerful Immunity, and 6) Supporting Protocols.

The six foundational elements of the program remain powerful individually, but act synergistically when combined within a rejuvenation lifestyle that supports optimal health. The results of this program can include greatly improved capabilities for your body to heal, regenerate, rejuvenate, and restore its vitality.

As discussed in part two of the Rejuvenation Program series, the first element in our Rejuvenation Program is proper Attitude/Commitment. This is one of the critical foundations of an effective rejuvenation lifestyle program. Best results always follow commitment. When your attitude and level of commitment are aligned with a desire for wellness, you’re ready to create health naturally. You’re ready to embrace a total rejuvenation lifestyle with enthusiasm.

The next two elements I presented were Detoxification and Preventing Toxicity. These are critical because toxicity prevents rejuvenation. Removing toxins and keeping new toxins out of the body create a foundation for optimal health. They are essential elements for establishing an effective rejuvenation lifestyle.

Toxins reduce your vitality, energy, and capacity for healing. They also burden your detoxification organs (e.g., liver/gallbladder and kidney/bladder). As detoxification proceeds, your toxic burden declines, energy increases, cell function improves, and so does your capacity to heal.

Now that I’ve reviewed the importance of removing toxins and preventing new toxicity, let’s discuss the steps you can take to start rebuilding the body for optimal health and rejuvenation. Let’s begin with nutrition in the context of the rejuvenation lifestyle.

HEALTH BUILDING NUTRITION FOR A REJUVENATION LIFESTYLE

Nutrition is the most important element for creating powerful health, restoring it, and maintaining it. Broadly defined, ‘nutrition’ includes anything you take into your body. Proper nutrition is the cornerstone of an effective rejuvenation lifestyle.

We suggest a diet of predominantly organic or wildcrafted foods. That is, the foods you consume should not be genetically modified (i.e., non-GMO) and should be as free (as possible) of agricultural or industrial chemicals, including synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. This is important because toxins in foods adversely impact health and burden your detoxification organs (e.g., liver/gallbladder, kidney/bladder).

Emphasize plant-based foods. Diets high in plant foods offer major advantages to diets where plant foods are not in abundance. Here are some important advantages of consuming  a diet high in plant foods: 1) High levels of complex carbohydrates, 2) high levels of fiber, 3) An abundance of vitamins, minerals,  antioxidants, and phyto-nutrients, 4) high capacity to create alkaline conditions in the body, 5) Reduced levels of toxins (plants are at bottom of the food chain), 6) greater sustainability for the planet.

Avoid or reduce consumption of processed foods, including refined flour, refined sugar, and ‘junk foods.’ Processing destroys nutrients leaving foods devoid of nutritional value. In addition, processed foods often contain additives, including chemical preservatives, and artificial flavors or colors. A lifestyle that supports optimal health simply holds no place for toxic chemicals in foods. That is, creating an effective rejuvenation lifestyle requires avoidance of toxic chemicals, including preservatives and additives.

The healthiest foods are the least processed and often the least cooked. In fact, we recommend a diet that’s at least 50% raw food for optimal health. Raw foods provide enzymes and other nutrients that are destroyed by the cooking process. Raw foods thereby support digestive processes and help the body assimilate nutrients.

While we emphasize plant foods and suggest a plant-based diet high in raw foods, this may not be desirable for everyone. If you consume animal foods, emphasize wild-caught fish, and organic, free-range/grass-fed, and sustainably/humanely raised meats and eggs. If you consume dairy, then emphasize milk/butter/cheeses that are fresh, organic, and raw (unpasteurized). Again, the goal is to consume foods that are natural and ‘whole.’ Avoid processed meats, farmed fish, and added hormones and antibiotics. None of these are suitable if you plan to implement a successful rejuvenation lifestyle program.

MAJOR ROLE FOR DIETARY NUCLEIC ACIDS (RNA, DNA) IN A REJUVENATION LIFESTYLE PROGRAM

We recommend consuming a diet that provides high levels of nucleic acids. The most common dietary nucleic acids include RNA and DNA. Dietary RNA (ribonucleic acid and DHA (deoxyribonucleic acid) provide the building blocks your body needs to create energy to sustain cellular function and rejuvenate entirely from the inside out. We consider dietary nucleic acids to be nutrients essential for health, and recommend you consume them in abundance as part of a complete rejuvenation lifestyle.

Diets high in RNA were first recommended by molecular biologist Dr. Benjamin S. Frank. Dr. Frank pioneered the early research on dietary RNA. He discovered that high levels of dietary RNA had many beneficial effects in the body. Benefits include 1) Increased Energy Levels, 2) Cardiovascular Benefits, 3) Lower Cholesterol levels, 4) Increased Strength and Endurance, 5) Improved Tolerance of Temperature Extremes, 6) Smoother Skin & More Youthful Appearance, 7) Easier Breathing (greater oxygenation of tissues), 8) Physical Rejuvenation, and 9) Greater Longevity.

Foods high in nucleic acids include legumes (most beans and peas), ocean fish and seafoods, organ meats, mushrooms, and certain vegetables (e.g., spinach, radishes, asparagus, onions). As little as 75 mg of RNA can be beneficial. However, therapeutic levels typically range from 300 mg to 1,000 mg (or higher). While most of the foods  listed provide substantial amounts of nucleic acids, by far the highest levels of nucleic acids are found in chlorella. High-quality chlorella is available in tablets, yet it is easier to obtain therapeutic levels by consuming it in powder form (e.g., added to smoothies).

Chlorella (Chlorella pyrenoidosa) contains at least ten times more RNA than sardines (the next highest food). That is, chlorella is about 3% RNA and .03% DNA! This is remarkable for a humble, single-celled microalga. Consider the fact that chlorella can reproduce up to four times in 24 hours. Rapid reproduction requires nucleic acids, and growth factors, which play critical roles in the process. Consuming chlorella puts nucleic acids to work for your cells. Nucleic acids (RNA/DNA) directly stimulate tissue repair at the cellular level. This is how consuming chlorella rejuvenates your cells and organs.

When chlorella stimulates tissue repair in skin, it results in a more youthful appearance. When tissue repair occurs in the liver, it regenerates the organ, which improves detoxification. Accelerated tissue repair happens everywhere in the body when nucleic acids are available. This is how dietary RNA and DNA in chlorella work to create health. In addition, the cell wall of chlorella is known to detoxify heavy metals (lead, mercury) and industrial/agricultural contaminants (e.g., PCBs, pesticides). Chlorella also contains large amounts of chlorophyll, known to cleanse and purify, and to soothe inflamed tissues.

Yet, chlorella is just one part of a diet that fully reflects a rejuvenation lifestyle. First, various high-RNA foods provide different types of nucleic acids. Second, there are other nutrients (e.g., B-vitamins) that significantly boost the therapeutic effects of dietary RNA/DNA. When you consume a broad spectrum of dietary nucleic acids (as part of a healthy diet), you maximize health-building effects. You look and feel younger, and your biological age diverges from your chronological age.

In fact, Dr. Frank notes that the older the person, the more pronounced these effects appear. In your 30s, you may appear five years younger than your peers. In your 70s, you can appear 10–15 years younger. This the amazing power of nucleic acids to rejuvenate, revitalize, and protect your health. And we emphasize consumption of dietary nucleic acids in our rejuvenation lifestyle program precisely for these reasons.

REJUVENATE!™ LEVERAGES HEALING POWERS OF NUCLEIC ACIDS FOR HEALTH

The intake of dietary nucleic acids is one of the most important elements of a rejuvenation lifestyle (as detailed in the HPDI Master Rejuvenation Program).

Our interest in dietary nucleic acids led us in 2005 to design Rejuvenate!™, the world’s first high-RNA superfood designed to provide therapeutic levels of nucleic acids. Rejuvenate!™  (original greens) contains 40% chlorella, yet includes powerful additional sources of RNA and DNA.
